Indian captain MS Dhoni has emerged from a 36-hour bender celebrating his side’s 31-run loss to Australia in the first Twenty20 in Sydney on Wednesday.
The disheveled skipper defended the partying, saying they were just happy to have avoided an innings defeat in the 20-over a side match – one of the first times this summer they’ve achieved the feat.
However Dhoni wasn’t confident of continuing their good form in Friday’s second match, saying the players were exhausted after a gruelling celebratory all-nighter that took in some of Sydney’s hottest vindaloo houses and a marathon viewing session of Slumdog Millionaire.
